Why This Matters

In The Atelier, our Belle Academy Teen Braid Lab (13–16) welcomes students and trains them like pros. With concierge coaching and true hands-on practice, teens learn parting and tension control, knotless braids, twists and soft-loc foundations, scalp health, climate-smart finishing for Houston, client care, booking etiquette, and business/social basics. Hospitality makes learning land: a calm pace, small amenities on the house (welcome drink, natural snacks), and mentors who model representation. Sessions run after school and on Saturdays in small groups for focused feedback.

Complete the Lab and interview for a paid, mentored internship on The Parlor floor (and in The Belle Apothecary). It’s real experience and real earnings—starter clientele from peers, retail confidence, and guided content practice—plus safety-first policies and progress checklists. A head start in beauty, delivered the House of Belle way.

Parlor Prep: Shadow & Practice

Graduates step behind the scenes to observe The Parlor floor, practice booking etiquette, and role-play client consults. We add business + social basics (pricing, content, peer outreach) so skills translate into real-world confidence.

Suite Pathway: Paid Internship

Qualified students interview for a paid, mentored internship at House of Belle. Interns assist on The Parlor floor and in The Belle Apothecary, build a starter clientele (peers welcome), and create content with guidance—at a calm, concierge pace.

  • Teens ages 13–16. No prior braiding experience required—just curiosity and commitment.

  • After-school and Saturday blocks at The Atelier inside House of Belle, 12941 North Fwy, Suite 630, Houston, TX 77060.

  • Instruction, practice hair for class, amenities (welcome drink, natural snacks), and a skill checklist. A supply list is emailed after you apply.

  • Complete the Braid Lab and interview. Accepted interns train on the floor with mentorship and paid shifts; full details are shared during the interview process.

  • Comfortable, closed-toe shoes and neat, stylist professional attire. We provide a mannequin head and basic combs/brushes; we’ll send the exact list via email.

  • Please give 48 hours’ notice to reschedule. Consistent attendance is required for internship eligibility.
